I am sorry to announce the passing of our mascot Waxer last month.
He was very loved by select few that knew him well. Waxers favorite
thing in the whole world was chicken followed by chasing crabs at
low tide or any body of water for that matter, he despite being very
shall we say big boned he was quite the swimmer. He loved the sound
of a finely crafted acoustic guitar and chewing most things. Waxer is
survived by he one true love my friend Michael's dog the Missy Moo.
He will truly be missed he was an extraordinary being…………

More pictures from Saturday courtesy of Tommy WaveDancer. Such a fun day of waves with good friends.
Maiko and Shigeru were out (as usual) killing it.

I heard that further East was bigger. Honestly though, it didn’t matter. We ate tacos, hung out with good friends and took it easy on logs.

The surf has been small and fun in the city forever! Had another fun soft-tail saturday at 90th street in Rockaway. Surfed for 6 hours with Lucas, Jon, Jack Crank, and Elle, then headed to Rockaway Taco for some eats with some new friends.

We’ve been getting super fun log days up here in NYC. I heard that Larry is getting some fun ones across the street from his house in Cocoa Beach, too. Here we have some photographic documentation of Soft-Tail Sunday part deux. Lucas, Jon and I all slid our way through the congestion, getting some really long noserides. It would have been the first non-injury surf session in a while had Lucas not broken a rib. Lucas, Elle, and I watched Big Wednesday last night. I don’t know if it was the vicatin, but Lucas was pretty surf that he could get wet tomorrow, broken rib or not.
Here are shots: Lucas is on his 9′7 Soft-Tail, Jon on his 9′8 and I am on my 9′10.

We’ve been having some killer log seissions up here in NYC lately. The photos below are from last weekend at Gilgo. That’s Lucas with the white SoftTail and Jon with the blood. Lucas got his board about three weeks ago and Jon finally broke down and bought the ST that has been calling his name from the racks of Mollusk Brooklyn for months now.
Lucas and I have lockers at Boarders surshop in Rockaway, which keeps us from having to take the train with our 30+pound logs and gear each AM. Last week both him and I fell victim to the double edged sword that is the foiled rails of the SoftTail. Lucas opened up his eyebrow with the rail and got 9 stitches, which kept him out of the water for about 15 minutes. I got guillotined in the back of the head and had to get 4 interior stitches and 5 staples in my head. It bled A LOT. Anyhow, we discussed wether such dangerously foiled rails were worth the risk. The answer is yes, I decided, after watching Lucas and Jon swerve through the crowded lineup at 90th street, and after getting the longest backside ten of my life two days ago, actually holding the perch through sections and plowing through flat spots, making it from the peak almost all the way to the sticks without backpedaling. They are magic boards.
